‘TIS The Season For The Perfect Holiday Vacation Recommendations

As the year winds down, the festivities of the holiday season are in full swing in Myrtle Beach. If you’re escaping to the beach to get in the holiday spirit, here are some recommendations for the perfect holiday vacation.

CATCH A HOLIDAY SHOW

Myrtle Beach is known for its entertainment and the area theaters bring out all the bells and whistles during the holiday show season. You’ll be amazed as toy soldiers tap away on a giant keyboard and dancing Christmas trees swirl at the South’s Grandest Christmas Show at Alabama Theater. Enjoy dance numbers and your favorite holiday songs performed by some of the nation’s top vocalists and musicians at The Carolina Opry Christmas Special, also known as The Christmas Show of the South. And if you’re in search of dinner and a holiday show, your family is sure to be entertained by Captain Scrooge’s magical journey and giant toys performing breathtaking acrobats above the lagoon at The Pirate’s Voyage Christmas Show.

VENTURE THROUGH TWINKLING LIGHTS

If sparkling lights are what get you in the holiday spirit, there are two places you’ll want to visit while at the beach—Nights of a Thousand Candles and The Great Christmas Light Show. Each year, Brookgreen Gardens decorates with over 2,800 hand-lit candles and countless dazzling lights. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy a cup of hot cocoa or wine while they stroll through the gardens and enjoy the lights, holiday musical performances, and carolers singing. While Brookgreen has a soft glow the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex, on the other hand, lights up the night with over 2 million lights in its drive-through light show. There are over 500 light displays with some over 55 feet tall, all custom made for this magical experience. After you drive through the lights, you and your family can visit Santa’s Village and enjoy s’mores, hot chocolate, and meet Santa.

ENJOY A FESTIVE FAMILY OUTING

There are plenty of activities to partake in with the family that will have everyone feeling festive. Stop by Ripley’s Aquarium for their annual Ripley’s Festival of Trees. Decked out with more than 55 trees, you’ll find trees adorned with decorations and ornaments representing all of the US states and territories. And new this season, hop aboard the Polar Bus Express for an unforgettable holiday ride. Impersonating the Polar Express, this magical double-decker bus will take passengers to the North Pole where they can enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, and meeting Santa. This experience can found every Saturday in December, so don’t forget to wear your pajamas!

ENJOY A FESTIVE FAMILY OUTING

It’s been quite the year and Myrtle Beach is one of the best places to say farewell to the past as you ring in the new year. The Market Common is hosting their annual Southern Times Square featuring live music, food and drink vendors, complete with a ball-drop and fireworks at midnight.
