Top 10 Water Activities in Myrtle Beach

Between the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, water parks, and water attractions, there’s no shortage of aquatic entertainment around Myrtle Beach. If you’re hoping to make a splash during your next getaway, here are the top 10 water activities to add to your excursion list:

Myrtle Waves

Located across from Broadway at the Beach, Myrtle Waves is the perfect spot to splash the day away. With over 30 water slides, you can race down the Thunderbolt Speed Slides, slip and slide down the Rockin Ray or spin and twist your way down the Arooba Tooba. Grab an inner tube and take a ride in the dark down the Night Flight or speed down the Turbo Twisters. And the little ones in the group are sure to be entertained at Bubbly Bay and Saturation Station. Fun for all ages, Myrtle Waves knows how to get wet n’ wild!

Shark Wake Park

Shark Wake Park is a cable wakeboarding spot in North Myrtle Beach. The park operates by a pulley system, and to ride, simply grab onto the rope and let yourself be pulled around the water on a wakeboard. Once you’ve gotten the hang of gliding along the water, you may want to try hitting the jumps and attempting a few tricks. Regardless of your skill level, you’re sure to have a blast wakeboarding laps around the park.

Wild Water & Wheels

The sister park to Myrtle Waves, Wild Water & Wheels offers a water slide for everyone in the group. For the brave ones, there are speed slides like the Free Fall Cliff Dive, Triple Dip, and Side Winder. If cruising on a tube is more your style, take the plunge down the Dark Hole or the White Water Express. Up for some friendly competition? Grab a mat and race down the Wild H2O Racer. After the water slides, take a spin in the lazy river or splash around in the wave pool. There’s no shortage of fun at Wild Water & Wheels!

Brew Boat

Cruise around the sparkling waters of Murrells Inlet and get some exercise at the same time on the East Coast Brew Boat. This is no ordinary pontoon boat—it’s peddle-power. You set the pace of how slow… or fast you want to cruise. But don’t worry, the engine is there to help keep you moving if your legs get tired. The company supplies the ice and all you have to bring are the ice-cold refreshments you want to sip while peddling your way around the marsh.

Kayaking

If you’re hoping to explore the water and get up and close to nature, try doing it by kayak. Choose from a single or double kayak and visit the beautiful marsh areas in North Myrtle Beach or Murrells Inlet. You can paddle around at your leisure as you try to spot all sorts of coastal wildlife. If you prefer to go with a guide, check out Glass Bottom Kayak Tours in North Myrtle Beach. They offer glass-bottom kayak experiences where you can choose from shelling excursions, sunset paddles, and tours of Cherry Grove salt marsh.

Surfing

Splashing around in the ocean is fun, but riding the waves to shore is even more exciting. There are plenty of places to rent a board so you can spend the day trying to catch some waves. If you would rather take a lesson, you can learn the basics of how to paddle, the art of “popping up”, spotting the right wave, and the timing of it all. Before you know it you’ll be paddling into them on your own and surfing the day away.

Banana Boat

Have you ever seen the giant floats in the shape of a banana being pulled behind a jet ski? It’s called banana boating and offers an exciting way to cruise along the water. It will be hard to wipe the smile off your face as you fly across the top of the waves, bouncing and bumping along. Make sure to hang on tight!

Parasailing

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to soar high in the sky above the ocean, you have the perfect opportunity while on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Parasailing offers one of the most thrilling ways to experience the water. You’ll have breathtaking views of the ocean and the coastline below as you float along in the sky. This is one incredible way to make unforgettable memories with the family.

Jet Ski

For the thrill-seekers in the group that aren’t satisfied with just floating along the water, jet skiing is the perfect action-packed water activity for them. They can enjoy splashing around and speeding across the waves. Racing around isn’t the only activity to do on this watercraft. Myrtle Beach also offers dolphin tours by jet ski. Whether it’s the rush of the wind in your face as you’re whizzing along or the thrill of trying to spot dolphins, jet skis are a unique way to cruise around the ocean.

Deep-Sea Fishing

The best part of deep-sea fishing in Myrtle Beach is that no matter what time of year you fish, there’s always something in season. You have the option of either renting a charter boat out for either a half or a full day. During the spring and summer months, you can try your luck at reeling in blue marlin, Mahi, Spanish mackerel, yellowfin tuna, and king mackerel. Regardless of if you catch any keepers, you’re sure to bring home some amazing stories.
