Top 5 Ways to get in the Holiday Spirit in Myrtle Beach

The holiday season is here and there are plenty of festive activities happening around Myrtle Beach to get in the holiday spirit! Here is a list of the “Top 5 Ways to get in the Holiday Spirit” when you stay with Brittain Resorts & Hotels this holiday season:

Nights of 1000 Candles

When you visit Brookgreen Gardens this December, you’ll notice the gardens have been transformed into a magical wonderland of twinkling lights. There are over 5,500 hand-lit candles and numerous sparkling lights. From 3 pm to 10 pm, you can meander through the gardens, where you’ll find the different sections of the gardens decorated with strands of colorful and white lights dangling from branches or wrapped around tree trunks. Enjoy hot apple cider, a glass of wine, or craft beer, and catch some of the live entertainment in the various tents. And make sure to arrive by 5:45 pm to see the giant Christmas tree lighting – which is almost as magical as the lighting of the Rockefeller Center tree!

Festival of Trees

During December, Christmas trees are added to the aquatic exhibits in Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach. The display has over 75 beautifully decorated Christmas trees that can be found throughout the whole building. Fifty of those trees are dedicated to each representing a different state of the U.S. The tree for South Carolina features shells, magnolias, golf balls, and more! There’s even a free scavenger hunt where you can test your knowledge of each state.

The Great Christmas Light Show

The North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex has transformed into a wonderland of lights for the holiday season. From 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, you can enjoy driving through a light show that features over 2 million lights, with over 500 sparkling light displays that have been custom-made just for this event! There are over 20 enchanting animated holiday figurines and holiday scenes that come to life through the twinkling of lights. And there is even a section of lights synchronized to holiday music! After driving through the captivating light show, be sure to make a pit stop at Santa’s Village. You can enjoy hot chocolate, and s’mores, check out the Santa Express Train Ride and visit with Santa himself! If you’re feeling adventurous, head over to the Go Ape Ropes Course, where you can explore the course in full holiday mode in a lighted tree-top adventure. After you’ve finished venturing and swinging through the sparkling trees, you can go tubing down Santa’s new giant inflatable slide! The Great Christmas Light Show is sure to be a holiday hit for everyone in the family!

Breakfast with Santa

After all of the hours Santa has put in at his workshop, even he himself needs a break. Save a stamp and read over your Christmas wish list with Santa in person during Breakfast with Santa in Myrtle Beach! You can find Santa at Gordon Biersch on December 16th from 9 am to 11 am and Hard Rock Cafe in Myrtle Beach will be hosting Santa and Mrs. Claus for breakfast on December 16th and December 23rd from 9 am to 11 am. At Hard Rock, there will be a huge breakfast buffet, free activities and even a Christmas treat from Mrs. Claus! Your breakfast will be a little sweeter when you dine with Santa this holiday season!

Santa Crawl

The MarshWalk has transformed into a winter wonderland of dazzling lights! On December 16th, grab your tacky Christmas Sweater or Santa Suit and head to the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk for an evening of Reindeer Games at the 3rd Annual MarshWalk Santa Crawl. The event takes place from 5 pm to 10 pm, with the area restaurants and bars featuring dinner and drink specials. There will be prizes given to the best holiday outfits that represent the season.
