Nowadays everyone is attached to their smartphone, so it’s easy to capture those memories through photos or videos. Social media is also a great place to upload all of the events taking place on your vacation. Visitors to the beach can go back through their feed or album and remember the great memories.

Myrtle Beach has plenty of places for great photo opportunities. Here are a few of our favorite places that we recommend you check out for snapping that perfect beach shot, family portrait, or infamous group selfie.

2nd Ave Pier

The 2nd Avenue Pier is a Myrtle Beach destination that many visitors and locals enjoy. The pier offers unique views of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and has been a fixture in Myrtle Beach for almost 75 years. You can visit the pier from 7 am-1 pm to capture a photo of the beautiful sunrise or sunset. There is a fee of $1.00 per guest to take a walk out on the pier, but trust us; it’s well worth it! There will be the opportunity to take photos of people fishing on the pier too.

Murrells Inlet Marshwalk

The Murrells Inlet Marshwalk is an awesome place to hang out, and an even better place to snap some great photos. The Marshwalk is a ½ mile-long boardwalk with many different restaurants along the way. Visitors and locals can expect to hear a variety of bands along the way and be provided with great entertainment. There is even an island that has goats! Now that is a picture worth taking!

Myrtle Beach State Park

The Myrtle Beach State Park is located along South Kings Highway and is a great place to escape from the noise. At Myrtle Beach State Park, visitors can explore many different areas, which will make for amazing photos to add to any collection. The park has been around since the 1930s and is extremely peaceful. Visitors and locals can enter the park for $5 from 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday. The park has nature trails, educational opportunities, and a beautiful pier for fishing. The stunning views and green scenery allow guests to snap many perfect photos.

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is always full of entertainment and happenings. There are many areas along the way where visitors and locals can find the perfect spot for a beautiful photo. It’s a great opportunity to get those family selfies or sunset photos with the ocean as a backdrop. There are also many other photo opportunities along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk including the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, and the Sling Shot Ride.

It doesn’t matter if your hotel room has an oceanfront view or a side view of the water. Either way, it will make for a truly spectacular picture. Whether it is the sun coming up or going down, photos of the ocean waves are always a favorite. Even better, create a short video of the waves! After you take the photos, upload them to your favorite social media page and tag the resort you are staying at. There are many times that the hotels will give fan recognition to those who take such beautiful property shots!

Myrtle Beach has many places where locals and visitors can capture beautiful photos. The photos can range from entertainment, attractions, dining, nightlife, and more. Your vacation photos should be a showcase of everything you did and allow you to look back and reminisce!
