Summer Guide to Myrtle Beach 2022

Far be it from us to restrict your beach dreams to the summer months. (Myrtle Beach is awesome all year round.) Summer, though, has an allure all its own.

It’s the hottest time to get to the beach, in more ways than one.

The summer sizzle will be in full effect on the Grand Strand soon. There are a million and one ways to spend a summer day here, from the tranquil to the transformative. Here are a few ideas.

What’s Myrtle Beach Like in Summer?

From June to August, the weather revs up on the Grand Strand. There are a few afternoon showers, especially in July, but the days are sunny and sizzling. It’s perfect for a hot day on the beach and a warm night dining on an oceanfront patio.

Your Preseason Guide to Summer on the Grand Strand, 2022

1. Go Catch a Myrtle Beach Pelicans Game

What better way to get into summer than with the Boys of Summer? The Pelicans are a Class A Chicago Cubs affiliate, so you get to see the stars of tomorrow, today. The home season starts April 12 against Augusta in Carolina League action.

Recommendation

Consider a flex book. It gets you 12 undated ticket vouchers and a 20% off coupon for the gift shop.

2. Hit the Gift Shops

For yourself, and for others … with graduations, Father’s Day, and Mother’s Day coming up. The Gay Dolphin Gift Cove is a multi-level collection of quintessential Myrtle Beach. Tiki Jim’s of Broadway at the Beach is THE spot for the best Myrtle Beach T-shirts.

Recommendation

Visit Crabby Jacks at Broadway at the Beach. They have great gifts, but also a lot of little essential items you might have forgotten to pack. Speaking of Broadway at the Beach …

3. Spend a Day at Broadway at the Beach

Shopping, entertainment, dining … you have it all, at Broadway at the Beach. There are plenty of stops the kids will love. And, you’ll get your steps in getting around the beautiful pond in the middle of it all. Hit The Avenue for all the dining and entertainment you’d want.

Recommendation

Broadway at the Beach has a great lineup of kids’ events, live music, fireworks, and more.

4. Take the Kids to Rockin’ Jump Myrtle Beach Trampoline Park

The young and the young at heart will enjoy this stop to get their hearts thumping. Even the littlest can participate in the Rockin Tots program. Where there’s jumping, there’s hunger, so be sure to take a break at the snack bar.

Recommendation

Buy advanced tickets online, and you could also get a discount.

5. Rent Jet Skis at Myrtle Beach Watersports

A dolphin jet ski tour is tough to beat when it comes to summertime Myrtle Beach experiences. Even without the awesome sightseeing, you’ll have a blast with the guides and the ride. You can really get moving on these vehicles, and it doesn’t take long at all to learn to ride.

Recommendation

You can rent a pontoon boat for a half- or full-day excursion, too.
