Summertime in Myrtle Beach has arrived! The weather is a hot 90 degrees with the sun shining bright. Will be you vacationing in Myrtle Beach this July? There are many Grand Strand events happening in the area. We’ve got you covered with a full list of July events you won’t want to miss! 

The 4th of July in Myrtle Beach is the place to be! There are a number of events happening during the day to celebrate Independence Day.

Annual Murrells Inlet Boat Parade: This is the 32nd Annual Murrells Inlet Boat parade, and it kicks off at noon from Garden City Point. Gather along the Marshwalk from Drunken Jacks down to the Hot Fish Club. Boats will cruise down the inlet showing off their patriotic spirit. The winner is based on the crowd’s cheers, so be sure to yell loud for your favorite.

Cupcake Eating Contest: The 4th Annual Cupcake Eating Contest will take place at Croissants Bistro & Bakery, located on 38th Ave North in Myrtle Beach. Participants will have five minutes to eat as many cupcakes as possible. Whoever eats the most will be crowned the “Cupcake Champion” of Myrtle Beach! Last year the winner ate 34 cupcakes. Do you think you have what it takes to win?

Six Annual Salute from the Shore: The 4th of July is all about celebrating our men and women who have served in the Armed Forces. For the sixth year in a row, a vintage aircraft will fly along the South Carolina coast. Locals and visitors on the beach are given the opportunity to salute the forces with friends and families.

Fireworks Schedule: It isn’t the 4th of July without fireworks! There are many fireworks displays happening around the Grand Strand. Here’s a list of where and each start time.

  • Broadway at the Beach – 10:00 pm on July 4th
  • The Myrtle Beach Pelicans Stadium – The Pelicans will celebrate on both Thursday and Friday with post-game fireworks.
  • Second Avenue Pier – 10:00 pm on July 4th
  • Barefoot Landing – 10:15 pm on July 4th
  • Cherry Grove Pier – 9:00 pm on July 4th
  • Murrells Inlet Marshwalk – 10:00 pm on July 4th

14th Annual Mustang Week: On July 13th, Mustang Week will begin in Myrtle Beach. The entire week is full of entertainment, attractions, and live music. The event will take place at the Palace Theatre. In previous years, there were nearly 750 classic Mustangs that took up the Palace Theatre parking lot. If you are a car buff, then this is an event for you.

Concert on the Green: On July 18th, The Market Common will be hosting its first free concert series! The music begins at 7:00 pm with food, vendors, and more. Come on out and enjoy the live music with family and friends. Bring your own towels, blankets, or lawn chairs and find the perfect seat for the evening.

Summer Parrot Head Festival: La Belle Amie Vineyard will be hosting their Summer Parrot Head Festival on July 18th. Admission is $8 per person but will be reduced to $5 if you bring 2 canned/dry good food items. These items are donated to the local food bank. The party starts at noon with food being served shortly after. Live music begins at 1:00 pm and guests can enjoy wine tastings, dancing, and the beautiful outdoors.

Corey Smith: Corey Smith is no stranger to the House of Blues! He will perform at the venue on July 25th. Each year the southern rock artist plays at the House of Blues two different times, leaving folks with awesome memories. His popular hits include “21”, “Maybe Next Year”, and “Drinking Again.” Ticket prices begin at $17, and the show starts at 9 pm.
