Celebrate St.Patrick’s Day in Myrtle Beach

Come find your own pot of gold this St. Patrick’s Day in Myrtle Beach! The weekend before the holiday, there will be plenty of Irish-inspired events taking place up and down the Grand Strand. From food festivals and fun runs to live music and parades, here are the happenings you won’t want to miss:

Grab your green running shoes and kick off your St. Patrick’s Day weekend celebration with a race around the Market Common. There’s a Shamrock 5K that begins at 8am and the 1 Mile Fun Run is at 9:15am. While there might not be a pot of gold at the end of the race, there will be awards for the fastest times and prizes for the most creative costumes. So whether it’s shamrocks or leprechauns, be sure to dress up!

One of the largest events during this celebratory weekend is one the whole family will enjoy. It’s the 32nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade in North Myrtle Beach. The parade starts at 9am along Main Street and is followed by a festival that lasts until 4pm. There will be vendors selling tasty treats and crafts, as well as three stages of live music and all-day entertainment. For the kids, there will be a section just for them full of rides and amusements.

The Market Common is hosting the 10th Annual Myrtle Beach Irish Fest at Grand Park. There will be lots of tasty food to sample along with ample amounts of green beer and Irish craft beer. Sip on Irish Pale Ale, New South Irish Stout, New South Irish Red, and Breckenridge Nitro Irish Stout. And for those non-beer drinkers, there will be wine available as well. After grabbing your food and drink, enjoy listening to live music while your kids enjoy the children’s zone. This foodie and the family-friendly event goes from 11am to 7pm.

On St. Patrick’s Day, grab your sweetheart and head to the picturesque Murrells Inlet for their annual Luck of the MarshWalk. During this all-day event, you’ll spend quality time hopping between restaurants and bars along the waterfront. Not only will you be enjoying food and drink specials, but you’ll also be trying to collect coins that are being passed out by leprechauns to their favorite costumes and most creative attire. And who knows – maybe you’ll be the lucky one that wins the grand prize pot of gold, a $1000 prize!
