Best Places to Spend New Years Eve in Myrtle Beach

What better way to usher in the New Year than the oceanfront in Myrtle Beach? The Grand Strand will be buzzing as we welcome 2020. Here are a few ideas for ringing in the New Year on the Grand Strand:

A Southern Times Square – Market Common

Surely you’ve heard of New Year’s Eve in Times Square watching the ball drop, but did you know you can watch a ball drop in Myrtle Beach on New Year’s Eve? Market Common hosts “A Southern Times Square” each New Year’s Eve. For this festive, outdoor event party goers pour out into the streets to enjoy live music, food, and libations. There will even be inflatables for the kids, street performers, and more. Just before midnight, everyone gathers at Valor Park to watch as the large disco ball is lowered. Then, at the stroke of midnight, a massive fireworks display illuminates the sky. Festivities begin at 9 p.m.

Murrells Inlet MarshWalk

Head down to the “Seafood Capital of South Carolina” for New Year’s Eve dinner, and stay for live entertainment while ushering in 2020. Enjoy all levels of cuisine from super casual to fine dining. Many MarshWalk restaurants will offer dinner and drink specials for New Year’s Eve. Stroll up and down the MarshWalk after dinner and take in the various live music offerings. You are sure to be in good company when the clock strikes midnight!

Light up the New Year – Brookgreen Gardens

Did you miss the Nights of a Thousand Candles? Here’s a chance for a similar experience while celebrating New Year’s Eve. Stroll through the exquisite gardens illuminated by hand-lit candles, holiday lights, and music. Light refreshments will also be available for purchase. Space is limited, so be sure and purchase tickets in advance. Since this event runs from 6-9 p.m., maybe head to the nearby MarshWalk mentioned above to finish out the night!

Hard Rock Cafe Rock ‘til the Drop New Year’s Eve Bash

Conveniently located at Broadway at the Beach in the heart of Myrtle Beach, Hard Rock Cafe offers a monumental New Year’s Eve celebration. Enjoy live entertainment from Chocolate Chip & Company, a balloon drop, confetti cannons, party favors, and a live simulcast from Times Square. There are three pricing levels ranging from $25 per person to $290 per couple. Since you’ll already be at Broadway at the Beach, be sure and take in their New Year’s Eve fireworks show at 8 p.m.
