March in Myrtle Beach means several things. Warmer weather, hitting the links, and most importantly, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations all along the Grand Strand.
When it comes to having the luck of the Irish, we’re in no short supply. From North Myrtle Beach to down on the Boardwalk in Myrtle Beach, the celebrations will be in full effect again this year.
In North Myrtle Beach, the 27th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade will be held on Main Street, Saturday, March 14.
A one-day event that’s held rain or shine, it brings approximately 30,000 people into North Myrtle to celebrate being Irish and welcome the coming of Spring. As in years past, the parade begins the day’s festivities at 9 a.m. Immediately following, there are two stages of live music and a children’s area with rides and amusements open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
In addition to all of this fun, Main Street will be lined with more than 150 vendors providing crafts, services, information, products, and/or treats for sale.
If a parade isn’t your speed, just down the beach, the world-famous Myrtle Beach Boardwalk will be hosting its annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.
Quite possibly the biggest yearly one-day event in Myrtle Beach, it really has something for everyone. All within three city blocks!
For those who are Irish (or Irish just for the weekend), the Celebration is two days of entertainment, live bands, food and retail vendors, and a HUGE Irish Beer Garden for adults.
For the kids, there will again be a petting zoo, camel and pony rides, inflatable bounce houses carnival rides, games, and age-appropriate on-stage entertainment for the kiddies. It should be noted that the children’s area is wholly separate from the beer garden and more mature audience, so parents can better enjoy this time with their children.
There will also be sidewalk sales at select area businesses over the weekend.
