Well, even if you’re more apt for a mellower approach, St. Patrick’s Day is a great time to start. Myrtle Beach has a nice lineup of activities to commemorate the holiday.
Here’s your guide to a Grand Strand visit for St. Patrick’s Day.

Parade: 9 a.m.
Festival: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission: FREE
Myrtle Beach’s biggest St. Patrick’s Day parade is an all-day party. Arrive early and get your viewing station set up by 8:30 a.m. This parade packs in the people! Bring the following:
There will be live announcing stations along the route. If you can’t attend the parade, you can watch a live broadcast on WPDE TV 15.
Enjoy three stages for live entertainment. WPDE personalities will emcee activities, which will include dancers, pipe bands, and more. Check out more than 150 vendors, too.
Many Main Street businesses will have treats, and you can visit food vendors, too. For fun, there’ll be street entertainers and leprechauns around, too. Bring your little ones to the children’s area for games and rides.
Visit the Information/Parks and Recreation tent to buy T-shirts in limited supplies. Pick one up early at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center and wear it around the festival.
Why not you? The festival crowns the best leprechaun every year. Dress in your best leprechaun duds and sport them at the festival for your chance to win. Judges will be looking for:
